Fake Honey

I once brought a jar of pure, processed honey to Haba Village which I had purchased at a city supermarket. Honey is expensive or unavailable at Haba guest houses, and I fancied lathering it on my baba bread (粑粑). The locals took one glance at my fine jar and laughed, calling it fake honey. I offered but they wouldn’t touch the stuff. They prefer honey-in-the-comb of the natural, unprocessed variety.
